Using the Canvas
Master the design canvas — positioning, resizing, rotating, and working with print areas.
Using the Canvas
The canvas is your main workspace. It shows the product with its print area — the region where your design will be printed.
Navigating the canvas
- Zoom — Use the scroll wheel or pinch gesture to zoom in and out.
- Pan — Hold Space and drag, or use two fingers to pan around.
- Fit to screen — Double-click the zoom control to reset the view.
Working with elements
- Select — Click on any element to select it. Selected elements show resize handles and a bounding box.
- Move — Click and drag to reposition. Hold Shift to constrain to horizontal or vertical movement.
- Resize — Drag the corner handles. Hold Shift to maintain aspect ratio.
- Rotate — Drag the rotation handle (above the element) to rotate freely.
Print area
The dotted boundary on the canvas shows the printable area. Designs that extend beyond this boundary will be clipped during production. The Studio will warn you if key parts of your design are outside the safe zone.
Snap and alignment
Elements snap to the center and edges of the print area as you drag them. This helps you achieve precise centering without manual coordinate entry. See Cropping & Positioning for precise alignment tools.
Layer stacking
Color Layers and Pattern Layers always sit at the back of the stack (they fill the entire print area). All other layers — images, text, shapes — stack on top and can be reordered. See Working with Layers for details.
