Japanese Wave Art Bikinis

Inspired by Ukiyo-e wave art — honoring the Japanese printmaking tradition.

Japanese wave art, at its most iconic in Hokusai and his peers, captures water as architecture — stacked, rhythmic, simultaneously massive and decorative.

We sourced pattern references from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Wikimedia Commons public-domain archives, then composed swim-ready crops that translate Ukiyo-e line and negative space onto each silhouette.

Each listing notes the source print family. The pieces are designed to read as wave art first, bikini second.
